COMPRESSION
What does compression do?
Compression garments apply gentle, controlled pressure to your legs. This helps support circulation by encouraging blood to flow back toward the heart and prevent from pooling in the lower legs., which can help reduce feelings of heaviness, swelling, and fatigue.
What is graduated compression?
Graduated compression means the garment is tightest at the ankle and gradually loosens up the leg.
This design helps circulation more effectively than uniform pressure because it encourages blood flow back to your heart.
What does 20–30 mmHg mean?
mmHg (millimeters of mercury) is the unit used to measure compression strength.
20–30 mmHg is considered a firm level of compression and is the most commonly recommended level for everyday support and moderate leg fatigue.
What are the benefits of wearing compression?
The general scientifically proven benefits of graduated compression are:
- Reduce leg fatigue
- Ease swelling
- Improve comfort during long periods of sitting or standing
- Feel more supported throughout the day
Who can benefit from compression?
Compression can be helpful for:
- People who sit or stand for long hours
- Frequent travelers

- Anyone looking for added leg support during daily activities
Can I wear compression all day?

If you have underlying medical conditions, it’s best to consult your healthcare provider for guidance.
When should I wear compression?
You can wear compression anytime you want extra support, including:
- Workdays
- Travel (especially flights)
- Running errands
- Exercise
- Recovery after long days
Is it safe to sleep in compression?
Compression garments are generally designed for daytime wear. If you’re considering wearing them overnight, it’s best to consult your healthcare provider.
How tight should compression feel?
Compression should feel snug and supportive, not painful.
You may notice more pressure around the ankles, which is normal for graduated compression.
Do I need a doctor’s approval to wear compression?
Most people can wear compression safely without a prescription. However, you should consult your physician if you have certain circulatory or medical conditions.
Who should not wear compression?
Compression may not be suitable for individuals with certain conditions, such as:
- Severe arterial disease
- Certain heart conditions
- Active skin infections
If you’re unsure, check with your healthcare provider.

We recommend wearing the Tression Ankle-Length Compression Socks along with the Tression Trousers and Leggings that are designed for this purpose. Always consult with your health care provider to confirm suitability for your individual needs.
Can I move normally in compression?
Yes — high-quality compression garments are designed to move with your body and support everyday activity.
Will compression make my legs look different?
Compression garments often create a smooth, sculpted appearance because they fit closely to the body.
Is compression only for medical conditions?
No — many people wear compression simply for comfort, support, or travel.
How often should I wash compression garments?
After every few wears (or more often if worn for long days or exercise) to maintain elasticity and hygiene. We recommend washing in our Compression Wash Bag for enhanced longevity.
How long do compression garments last?
With proper care, compression garments maintain performance for several months of regular wear. Typically, health care providers recommend replacing compression worn regularly every 6 months to ensure sufficient compression integrity.
