Where the Evidence Is Clearer

The strongest case for compression is in symptom management. Most people who wear appropriately fitted graduated compression consistently report:

  • Reduced heaviness and aching in the legs, particularly at the end of the day
  • Less swelling in the ankles and lower legs
  • Slowed progression of visible vein changes

What is well-established is that it manages symptoms and slows progression — and that's a meaningful distinction.

One important factor is adherence. Compression that goes unworn doesn't help anyone.
